The skin you’re in

One of the most beautiful things to witness is observing a woman who has fallen in love with herself: one who accepts her flaws and appreciates her gifts, but it most proud of how well the two fit together.
— Dear Woman - Just Mick the Poet

Right now, I am in São Paulo in Brazil. I arrived in Brazil on January 22nd. I stayed in the city of Curitiba for one month, and I arrived in São Paulo two days ago.

God guided my steps to this country and He prepared me before I came here. How did He prepared me? Two years ago, He told me to take Brazilian Portuguese classes. I did not expect to travel to Brasil this year. I thought I would have been somewhere in Portugal or in Spain.

So, I was surprised when God put this destination in my heart. I did not expect this. Here I am in Brasil.

I started reading a new book “Dear Woman” from Just Mick the Poet. You know, I wanted to read this book a long time ago, but the time was not right. When I left the UK to spend two months in France, I picked two books this one and another one about love.

Yesterday, I thought about the journey to become the woman that I am today. How God guided my steps and looked after me.

Since I am 18, I walked by faith and not by sight, I do God’s will in my life. I studied what He wanted me to study at University. I lived where He wanted me to live, the UK. Most of the times, what God asked to do and when He asked to do did not make sense.

One day, He told His vision is bigger than mine. As soon as I received this world, I thought about Isaiah 55:8-9.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
— Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

Today, I can say that I trust God fully with my life. His ways and not my ways. He always right and His timing is always perfect.

I don’t understand all His instructions, but I will always choose to do what He ask to do when He ask me to do it. Trust.

I know I am the woman that I am today because of Him. I am accomplished because of God. No doubt about that. He put everything in my heart in different seasons.

I love myself because I know who created me. I love what I see in the mirror whether I am wearing make-up or not. I don’t care what people think about me, and I don’t care about beauty standards. I am who I am. No need to be validated by other people. Nope!

Last year, on Tuesdays I was hosting an Instagram and YouTube live with “La Femme Victorieuse”. One day, I talked about self-love and self-confidence, and I said that my inner beauty is greater that my outer beauty, because of what God has placed in me.

Giving all to God is a decision. When you make the decision to do God’s will in your life, He will transform you. In a few years, you won’t be the same anymore.

In a perfect world, a woman receives her crown from her father, and her mother shows her how it is to be worn.
— Dear Woman - Mike the Poet

In my case, I received my crown from God, and He showed my how it is to be worn. When I said “showed”, I am not saying I saw God literally and He showed me how to wear it. I meant that He put me in different situations to know who I am, my identity in Christ, and how I should behave.

I remember that He guided me towards different subjects to learn them. In addition, I had dances classes, foreign languages classes and music classes. It’s interesting, isn’t it? So many people put God in one box.

He is really my Father guiding all my steps. I know I am who I am because of Him. When I was young I was ambitious but not to that point. The plan of God for me exceeded what I could envision for myself. I did not expect to accomplish so many things before 35.

I know that I am not perfect and there are other women more beautiful than me. I am a Queen among other Queens. This is how I see it. No need to be the most beautiful woman on Earth, and this title comes with a price. I don’t need that. I am just happy to be me. I take care of my body and my mind. I cultivate peace in my life.

It’s important to me to be and to stay on the path God has for me.

It’s freeing to love yourself, to be confident, to trust God with your life.

All I can do is praising God for this.

Avec beaucoup d’amour…
